Compared to Megaman X series, the classic Megaman has a increased difficulty, mainly on the first playthrough due to how the Level Designs are meant to make you die many times to it.

Overall, if you like Mega Man, you'll probably like Mega Man 11, but it's hard to recommend at the full price for anyone but the most diehard fans.ĥh PlayedA classic experience from the Megaman (a.k.a Rockman) franchise. Some weapons are very powerful and effective against many enemies (Tundra Storm, Blazing Torch, Chain Blast), whereas others are situational at best (Block Dropper, Pile Driver). It is the game's biggest departure from the classic formula, but I think Capcom did a good job of making it always helpful but rarely absolutely necessary. The double gear system is a good addition, and opens up new gameplay opportunities and strategies. These days, it just feels like the game is wasting my time. These were always fairly transparent ways to pad out the length of games that didn't really have a ton of content, but that was commonplace and acceptable in the 8 and 16-bit eras. For instance, the lives system, the one-hit kills from spike traps and bottomless pits, the jumps that require near-pixel-perfect accuracy, etc. However, even as a Mega Man fan, there are some aspects of Mega Man 11 that adhere too slavishly to old-school design sensibilities that were left in the past for a reason. Basically, if you've played a Mega Man game before, you know what to expect here. While it doesn't lean into the nostalgia factor as hard as the 8-bit styled Mega Man 10, the gameplay feels very familiar and levels are organized in the classic Mega Man fashion, where you can choose to fight the eight robot masters in any order before moving on to Dr.
